Ekesi is the Director of Research and Partnerships at icipe. He has been with icipe for over a decade and has held various positions there including leader of the Insect for Food, Feed and other uses Program (INSEFF). He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rothamsted Research, UK and as a lecturer in Crop Protection with Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. Ekesi is an entomologist and integrated pest management (IPM) specialist with extensive knowledge and experience in sustainable agriculture and in biodiversity in Africa and internationally. His specialties include research planning and execution, project management, strategic planning for new research areas, product development, resource mobilization, budgeting and budget monitoring, among many others.
