Nir Krakauer is an associate professor of Civil Engineering at the City College of New York. He heads several international projects related to water management in changing climates, sustainable agriculture, and improved weather and climate forecasts. Additional interests of his include grid integration of renewable energy, educating engineering students in ecological thinking, and using statistical tools for epidemiology and personalized medicine. He is on the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Committee for Adaptation to a Changing Climate as well as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Task Force.
